On Tuesday, all three of us worked together on finalizing the documentary, as well as making the final presentation in Google Slides. Ella recorded the voiceover for the intro of the film, but it ended up running longer than originally planned so we had to adjust the sound/video accordingly. Zoe also made a credits portion to the film, and we found a loop I'd made previously to use alongside the credits.
We then ran into the incredibly tricky issue of picking a title for the documentary. We scoured the interwebs, looking for theater-related vernacular, and we listened to pretty much all the footage from Tess's interview to see if she had inadvertently given us the perfect title while discussing the finer points of theater as a profession. Ultimately, we decided on calling it "Offstage" (very anticlimactic, I know).
All in all, I've had a lot of fun on project. Despite being with friends the entire time, we actually got a lot of stuff done and produced a nice 25-minute documentary. I would say that working with friends only enhanced the experience, since we were comfortable enough with each other to understand our creative choices and recognize what was behind each other's suggestions. With that being said, I definitely also enjoyed having the creative job of composing the score as an individual. I think our project worked really well because we were all collaborating in the big picture, but we also had our own areas of expertise where we could individually create. This arrangement meant that we didn't have to be together all day, every day (which can get exhausting even with the best of friends), so we had enough time to ourselves to recharge and work efficiently on our own section. I think our project was a big success, and I'm glad we had the opportunity to undertake it!
